its panoramic location on the Atlantic Ocean, south side of the Verrazano

History
Since its establishment in 1661, originally named
“Oude Dorp” which stood for Old Village, South Beach was the first
permanent settlement of the Island! With the addition Hundreds of our
Islanders come and enjoy this east shore line daily! The FDR Boardwalk
has become popular not only with Island runners and bikers, but with the
refurbishment of all the ball fields, playgrounds, bocce , shuffleboard
& volleyball courts & the addition of the roller skating facilities it

Fountain of Dolphins, Midland Beach War Memorial, & Capodanno Memorial
